Job Summary
Partner with project managers to plan jobs prior to initiation, including general conditions studies, procurement schedules, and logistics. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and establish the pre-construction budget while managing associated funds. Secure the best bids for each trade based on project needs and structure a fair final sub bid process by educating all subs on the Shawmut view of the project. Present proposals effectively to clients based on their specific needs and preferences. Requires 5+ years of construction estimating experience, proficiency in Excel, and knowledge of MEP systems across sectors like education, commercial, and hospitality.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field (preferably in commercial construction)
- Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures and an understanding of MEP systems and components
- Experience estimating in one or more of our sectors: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail and Sports Venues
- Solid conceptual estimating experience
- Proficiency in Excel
