Job Summary
Partner with project managers to plan jobs prior to initiation, including general conditions studies, procurement schedules, and logistics. Develop a comprehensive project strategy and establish pre-construction budgets while managing associated funds. Secure optimal bids from trades by educating subcontractors on detailed scopes of work, logistics, and the Shawmut project view to ensure fair final sub-bid processes. Present proposals effectively to clients based on their specific needs. This role supports work across Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail, and Sports Venues within the greater Los Angeles market. Candidates must reside in the area, be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, and possess 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in construction estimating
- Experience estimating in one or more of our sectors: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail and Sports Venues
- Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time-frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures and an understanding of MEP systems and components
- Knowledge of contract types and deal structures
- Solid conceptual estimating experience
- Must reside in greater LA or Orange County
- Flexible with required business travel
