Job Summary
Estimator responsible for estimating and proposal creation, project and job cost setups, subcontractor and vendor solicitation, earthwork takeoffs, and cost control. Requires experience in heavy civil construction, proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Building Connected, Bluebeam, Planswift, Microsoft Office, and Agtek, and strong skills in reading plans, contract negotiations, and schedule baselines. Collaboration within a team, effective communication with general contractors, owners, and municipalities, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of estimating experience (heavy civil) in a construction environment
- Minimum 2 years of college, preferably in a construction related field
- Experience in heavy civil construction related projects
- Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Building Connected, Bluebeam, Planswift, Microsoft Suite, and Agtek is preferred
- Ability to read plans
- A team player who works well with others or independently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving
- Must be self-motivated, calm under pressure, and consistently able to meet deadlines
- Organized with the ability to multi-task
- Positive attitude
