Job Summary
Senior Estimator responsible for leading the estimating process on large-scale heavy civil projects (>$5 million) such as water lines, stormwater systems, wastewater treatment, and restoration. You will design and manage cost estimates, perform take-offs, and ensure accurate cost analysis; collaborate with owners, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve technical hurdles from planning through execution; partner with leadership to identify new business opportunities and develop winning bid strategies; manage subcontractor bids and integrate them into proposals; participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and pre-construction planning; implement best practices and use cutting-edge estimating software to maintain meticulous cost estimates and quantities. Strong emphasis on construction methods, plans, and specifications, and deep knowledge of government contracting regulations (preferred). Must demonstrate an owner mindset, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive both independently and in teams.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (at least 5 years) as a Heavy Civil Estimator
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience with construction project management software (preferred)
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations (preferred)
- A keen analytical mind and the ability to take initiative
- A passion for innovation coupled with a meticulous approach to project details
- In-depth understanding of heavy civil construction practices, market trends, and best practices within our focus areas
