Job Summary
Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimate documentation under leadership guidance, analyzing manufacturing documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects, collecting historical cost data for finished goods pricing, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss costing issues. Daily duties include examining blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates; maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors; and maintaining a quote log for ongoing opportunities. The role requires knowledge of rubber and plastic manufacturing practices, strong analytical and data skills, mechanical aptitude, effective decision making, and professional interpersonal skills to interact with leadership, customers, vendors, and colleagues. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with ERP systems, and proficiency in Excel are highly valued, along with experience implementing 5S standards and SPC.
Required Qualifications
- BS or BA preferred, but not required
- 3 year minimum, 5+ years preferred in manufacturing background
- Exposure to bill of material and router setup preferred but not required
- Exposure to internal and external customer relationships
- Exposure to working in a team environment
- Rubber / Plastic processing or manufacturing background
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Implementing and maintaining 5S standards
- Managing processes with SPC
- ISO 9001, ASTM, tS16949
- Proficient in Excel
- General knowledge of ERP systems
