Job Summary
Estimator will lead project estimates for a full-service construction company across markets including multi-family, senior housing, affordable housing, hospitality, life sciences, corporate offices, educational, retail and other markets. Responsibilities include analyzing construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates; preparing vendor/subcontractor estimates; consulting with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal teams to discuss estimates; interfacing with engineers, architects, owners and subs; reading scopes of work; reviewing RFIs/Addendums; attending pre-construction meetings; presenting estimates to clients/owners; analyzing past projects for cost metrics; developing clear scopes of work and bid tabs; developing assumptions and qualifications; providing fully developed reconciliation and value management; organizing meetings with SPCM oversight. Required competencies include exceptional interpersonal, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical information; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; well-organized, team-oriented, detailed. Education and experience include a B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering or Construction Management and at least 8 years of commercial construction estimating experience; proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years commercial construction experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of estimating experience
- Knowledge of advanced functions of Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
