Job Summary
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects from early budgeting through final tender submission. Review architectural drawings, engineering plans, and contract documentation to interpret project scope. Complete quantity take-offs for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor works while sourcing and evaluating supplier quotations. Identify potential project risks, cost variations, and opportunities for value engineering or cost savings. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams during pre-construction and handover phases. Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases, and pricing schedules for future reference. Assist with tender submissions, post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and contract award processes.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and current market rates
- Ability to accurately read, interpret, and measure from architectural and engineering drawings
- Proficiency in estimating software, take-off tools, and Microsoft Excel
- High level of numerical accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
- This is a remote position
