Job Summary
Interpret complex electrical plans and specifications to determine project scope for low and medium voltage equipment, including panelboards, switchgear, and transformers. Generate detailed cost estimates and develop professional proposals that align with project schedules, contracts, and client needs while evaluating scope, assumptions, and risks. Act as a technical bridge between Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Procurement to ensure seamless execution, negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers, and offer value-engineered solutions during the design phase. Maintain meticulous lifecycle documentation for long-lead projects lasting up to 24 months and contribute to continuous improvement of internal estimating tools and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Power Distribution or Switchgear industry
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and industry-specific experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage inquiries and updates with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Prior project management experience
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in mathematical calculations
- Advanced proficiency in computer skills in various programs including SalesForce, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams
- Ability to communicate effectively using phones or computer software
- Ability to access and navigate each department at MCG or client facilities
- Ability to travel between MCG & client locations as needed
- Ability to travel for overnight stays
