Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions by reading department policies, soliciting subcontractor quotations, and collaborating with architects and engineers. Lead bid teams for small projects by supervising personnel, establishing bidding schedules, and conducting final reviews two days prior to the due date. Examine office conditions to identify cost-saving measures, assist in compiling historical cost data, and critically analyze estimates to apply appropriate labor rates and construction methods. Attend project meetings, perform site investigations, and recognize risks to apply contingency and escalation when appropriate.
