Job Summary
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions by reading department policies, examining office procedures, and identifying cost-saving measures. Solicit subcontractor quotations, participate in plan reviews, and collaborate with architects to draft clarifications. Attend project meetings, perform site investigations, and become proficient in estimating software. When designated as Lead Estimator, supervise bid teams, establish schedules, review owner specifications, and critically analyze estimates to ensure competitive bids while recognizing risks and applying contingencies. Work required hours to meet deadlines, identify efficient paths to success, and explore options to shorten construction schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
- 3-10 Years of estimating experience
- Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Preference for candidates living in the Denver, CO area
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience
