Job Summary
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions, soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotations as required. Collaborate with architects and engineers to draft clarifications, attend project meetings, and perform site investigations. Examine office conditions to identify inaccuracies and cost-saving measures, while assisting in compiling historical cost data. When designated as Lead Estimator, supervise the bid team, establish bidding schedules, and critically analyze estimates to ensure competitive bids. Apply appropriate labor rates and construction methods, recognize risks for contingency planning, and explore options to shorten construction schedules. Work established hours to meet deadlines, utilizing estimating software and adhering to company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
- 3-10 Years of estimating experience
- Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Preference for candidates living in the Denver, CO area
