Job Summary
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions by soliciting subcontractor quotations and collaborating with architects and engineers. Examine office conditions and procedures to identify cost-saving measures, while participating in plan reviews and site investigations as assigned. When designated as a Lead Estimator, supervise the bid team, establish bidding schedules, and critically analyze each aspect of the estimate to ensure a competitive bid. Review owner specifications, apply appropriate labor rates, and recognize risks to apply contingency and escalation when appropriate. Work the hours required to complete tasks assigned by established deadlines, utilizing estimating software to explore options that shorten construction schedules and minimize indirects.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
- 3-10 Years of estimating experience
- Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Preference for candidates living in the Denver, CO area
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience
