Job Summary
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for project divisions, solicit subcontractor quotations, and participate in plan reviews. Examine office conditions to identify cost-saving measures, collaborate with architects on clarifications, and attend site investigations. When designated as Lead Estimator, supervise the bid team, establish bidding schedules, review owner specifications, and critically analyze estimates to ensure competitive bids. Apply appropriate labor rates and construction methods, recognize risks for contingency planning, and explore options to shorten construction schedules. Work required hours to meet established deadlines while maintaining safety standards through toolbox meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
- 3-10 Years of estimating experience
- Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Preference for candidates living in the Denver, CO area
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience
