Job Summary
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions, reading department policies and collaborating with architects to clarify specifications. Solicit subcontractor quotations, confirm supplier lists, and participate in plan and estimate reviews while assisting in compiling historical cost data. For small projects, supervise bid teams, establish scheduling deadlines, and conduct final reviews two days prior to bid due dates. Analyze owner documentation to incorporate necessary costs, critically evaluate estimates for competitiveness, and apply appropriate labor rates and construction methods. Identify cost-saving measures, minimize indirects, and apply contingency funds when recognizing risks.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating
- 3-10 Years of estimating experience
- Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
- Preference for candidates living in the Denver, CO area
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience
