Job Summary
Conduct quantity take-offs, pricing, and bidding for construction projects by reviewing plans, specs, and milestone documents. Solicit and negotiate prices from subcontractors and suppliers, then communicate clarifications on scope, materials, and schedules with architects and consultants. Participate in internal estimate reviews, assist with final assembly for owner presentation, and organize bid information post-bid. Direct subcontractors, prepare contractual exhibits, and aid field operations with change order pricing while maintaining relationships with internal clients and industry peers. Keep current with estimating technology and techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes
- Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as OST, MC2, QTO and BIM related software
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- This role will be based out of either our Los Angeles or San Diego offices
Desired Qualifications
- Construction estimating internship experience preferred
