Job Summary
Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to develop large multidisciplinary estimates for hard bid, negotiated, and conceptual projects. Coordinate a team of estimators, determine labor and equipment costs, and perform accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing. Analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids, assess project risks, and prepare bid packages at various completion levels. Review quotes with the Project Management Team and assist with post-bid buyouts while ensuring diversity compliance. Requires five years of experience or a degree with three years of experience, understanding of estimating software, and ability to manage deadlines. Based in Atlanta, GA, this role supports the Southeast Water Division within a fast-growing, fourth-generation construction firm.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience or College Degree with 3 years of experience
- Experience estimating projects over $30M
- Understanding of all applicable estimating software
- Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
- Prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
- Effective presentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communicator
- Must be confident working with estimating teams on projects of varying sizes
- Must be capable of estimating hard bid, negotiated and conceptual projects
- Must be self-motivated
- Must possess strong communication/interpersonal skills
- Must be confident in his/her ability to develop and manage their assigned portion of the estimate
- Must be able to work and live all over the United States
