Job Summary
Estimator – Level I (Preconstruction Support) will assist with quantity takeoffs, bid document review, subcontractor and vendor pricing, estimate development, and project turnover activities. This junior role supports estimating efforts across industrial, mining, energy, infrastructure, structural steel, concrete, and mechanical construction projects, learning Durus estimating systems under supervision. Primary responsibilities include taking off quantities from drawings/specifications, developing labor/equipment/material/subcontract pricing, reviewing bid documents, organizing bid documentation, supporting bid preparation and pre-bid/site visits, and contributing to project turnover and budgeting with guidance from leadership. Travel may be required within Arizona and neighboring states; the role emphasizes learning, data development, and teamwork within the preconstruction function.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of estimating, construction, engineering, project coordination, or related experience preferred.
- Field construction experience is valuable and may substitute for estimating experience.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, Excel, or similar software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver's license required.
