Job Summary
Prepare detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and documentation to determine time, cost, materials, and labor requirements. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate quotes, while identifying and mitigating potential risks and opportunities related to cost and schedule. Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for future reference and present estimates to internal stakeholders and external clients. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong proficiency in using estimating software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish or Mandarin
- Experience with configure-price-quote (CPQ) software
