Job Summary
Estimator in Kamran & Company’s Sales/Pre-Construction team responsible for producing accurate, competitive equipment bids to set projects up for success. Collaborates with Sales, Project Management, and design consultants to review documents, perform detailed takeoffs, source pricing from manufacturers/rep groups, and assemble bid packages. Requires strong numerical acuity, attention to detail, and ownership of numbers. Uses AutoQuotes and NetSuite (and related tools) to develop cost estimates including equipment, freight, installation allowances, and applicable taxes; prepares customer-facing proposals and equipment schedules; tracks bid outcomes and market pricing trends; and supports handoff to Project Management with clear specification intent. The role emphasizes identifying scope gaps, substitution opportunities, and value engineering, maintaining bid files, and contributing to pre-bid walkthroughs and client presentations. Prioritized skills include ability to read construction drawings and specifications, proficiency with estimating platforms, analytical math capability, and effective written/verbal communication, with a track record of managing multiple bids and meeting deadlines. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial foodservice equipment, commercial construction, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules.
- Proficiency in AutoQuotes or comparable estimating/quoting platforms.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Clear, direct written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet submission deadlines without exception.
