Job Summary
Prepare accurate estimates for heavy civil, water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects by developing detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns. Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, assumptions, and potential risks while assisting in building first-principles, bottom-up estimates. Obtain subcontractor and supplier quotations, prepare pricing summaries, and support bid submissions to ensure projects are priced right. Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and field teams to drive estimates from early concept through submission, participate in value engineering exercises, and flag constructability considerations. Requires 3–7 years of experience in mechanical construction or industrial projects, strong Excel skills, and a valid driver's licence.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of estimating experience in mechanical construction, HVAC systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, industrial projects, or related infrastructure projects
- Valid driver's licence
- willingness to visit project sites as required
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Bid2Win, HeavyBid, or similar
