Job Summary
Senior Civil Construction Estimator role leading full-cycle tender submissions for municipal civil projects (parks, pathways, bridges) with hybrid in-office collaboration. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings/specs/contracts, preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates, coordinating with subcontractors/suppliers/internal teams, identifying risks/opportunities and value engineering, supporting pre-construction planning, and mentoring junior estimators. Requires 7+ years in civil construction estimating, experience with municipal/public tenders, proficiency in HeavyBid/Bluebeam/Excel, and a civil-engineering-related diploma/degree considered an asset. Hybrid work model based in the Greater Hamilton Region; role involves collaboration with operations and leadership, and mentorship of an estimating team.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years civil construction estimating experience
- Proven ability to lead complex bids independently
- Strong experience with municipal or public tendering environments
- Background in civil infrastructure, site development, or parks projects
- Proficiency with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, and risk management
- Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills
- Experience working closely with both estimating and operations teams
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field is an asset
