Job Summary
Analyze blueprints and documentation to develop materials lists and cost estimates for sales bidding and contract job confirmation. Use packaged estimating software to determine linear and square footage for wall structures, headers, beams, and floor joists. Provide training and guidance to less experienced estimators while consulting with clients, vendors, and individuals to formulate estimates and resolve pricing issues. Assist the sales department by supplying information on material availability, substitutions, and new materials, and compute cost factors to support management decisions on vendor selection and cost effectiveness. Requires a construction technology associate degree and three years of estimating experience in the building construction industry.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three-years (3) estimating experience in the building construction industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction technology from two-year (2) college or technical school preferred
