Job Summary
Estimator II responsible for performing quantitative takeoffs, establishing labor productivities, maintaining vendor relationships, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and understanding market conditions for bids. Requires 5+ years of construction estimating experience, strong skills in reading specifications and drawings, and excellent communication abilities. Familiarity with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office products are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience estimating construction projects
- Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work
- Record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
- High level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
- Ability to read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
- Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
- Understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and independently
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
- Experience with interior and exterior commercial construction projects
- OSHA certification
- Experience working with union representatives
- Local to the DFW area
