Job Summary

Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects involving drywall, framing, acoustics, and interior finishes. Establish labor productivities, solicit subcontractor pricing, and maintain vendor relationships to secure competitive material and equipment rates. Analyze market conditions, backlog, and risk factors to determine margin percentages for bids. Participate in internal bid reviews with supervisors and hand off secured projects to the Operations team. Manage contract administration, change orders, and billings while supporting product line collaboration. Work with wage and benefit schedules using estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, and Procore. This safety-sensitive role supports PCI Cincinnati 581 operations in Louisville, KY, within a national employee-owned specialty contractor focused on commercial and industrial markets.

Required Qualifications

  • at least 5 years' experience estimating construction projects
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI's scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
  • Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
  • Must have a sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process
  • Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Local to the Louisville area

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
  • Experience with drywall, framing, acoustics, and interior finishes on commercial projects
  • OSHA certification
  • Experience working with union representatives
