Job Summary
Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector works projects by analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs. Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to ensure data accuracy. Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase bid competitiveness, utilizing existing cost history and advanced analytical processes. Review "take-off" quantities, communicate bidding risks and strategies to Senior/Chief Estimator, and present final estimates for review. Participate in bid reviews with management to develop estimating skills and communicate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience
- 2+ years estimating experience
- Prior Project Engineer and take-off experience
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software
- Working knowledge of Estimating software
- Working knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Working knowledge of construction principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives
- Ability to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct
