Job Summary
Estimator I – Inside Sales role analyzing blueprints and documentation to develop materials lists and cost estimates for bids and project costing. Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints and selections, using estimating software to determine linear and square footage for wall structures and components, supplying materials information to sales, maintaining up-to-date pricing data, maximizing stock material usage, calculating cost factors, and preparing estimates for management use. Requires reading and interpreting construction documents, ability to discuss estimates with clients/vendors, and proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office. Preferred Associate degree in construction technology with 2-3 years of industry experience; ability to train on estimating software and interpret complex drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction technology preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in building construction industry
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret documents
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., DQ2000, Estimating and Quote System)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows
- Ability to calculate linear and square footage, proportions, percentages, area, and volume
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to discuss estimates with clients, vendors, or contractors
- Ability to prepare bids and determine cost effectiveness
- Ability to work with project managers to resolve issues
