Job Summary
Develop accurate and timely estimates for private and public sector works projects by analyzing and compiling data on labor, materials, equipment, and location factors. Review drawings, specifications, and proposed site conditions while recording findings and soliciting input from field operations. Perform accurate quantity "take-off" to ensure data accuracy, utilizing existing cost history and discussing alternative solutions with field supervision and senior estimators. Present estimates for review, participate in bid reviews with management, and communicate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings. Present estimate/bid to Senior/Chief Estimator for review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience
- 2+ years of Engineer or Take-Off Technician experience
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with AGTEK Take-off software
- Proficiency with Primavera Scheduling software
- Basic understanding of Estimating software
- Basic principles of civil engineering
- Basic principles of construction
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic understanding of agency (U)DBE requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives
- Ability to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct
