Job Summary
Estimator I Engineering analyzes blueprints and other documentation to develop a materials list and cost estimate for bids and contract jobs; uses estimating software to determine material quantities and costs, assists sales with material availability and substitutions, maintains pricing data, and advises on how to reduce construction costs. Strong reading of blueprints, ability to compute linear/square footage, and experience with estimating tools and MS Office are required; role involves collaboration with Project Manager, sales, vendors, and customers to resolve issues and prepare accurate estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction technology from two-year college or technical school preferred
- Must have prior (2-3 years) experience within the building construction industry
