Job Summary
Estimator I (Earthwork) supports accurate, competitive bids for earthwork/site development projects, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, developing scopes/crews/equipment/production rates, and building estimates within HeavyBid. Works closely with project managers and field operations to apply field-driven knowledge to estimating; requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced bidding environment. Entry-level role with a path toward Estimator II or Project Manager/Estimator career progression; includes exposure to preconstruction through project execution and offers base compensation of $70,000-$81,000 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years bidding/estimating experience or 5 years related field experience
- Proficiency with Construction Bidding and Project Management software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to present information to management and stakeholders
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions
- Ability to travel 10% and work in office and on job sites
