Estimator (HVAC Service)

Job Summary
Review bid specifications and drawings for mechanical systems including chilled water, condenser water, glycol, and refrigeration. Conduct precise takeoffs and cost estimations for project materials and labor, then submit bids and budget proposals promptly to ensure timely project completion. Transfer bid information and subcontractor pricing details to the Project Management Team, prepare bid packages for supervisor approval, and communicate project details clearly to subcontractors regarding roles and permit requirements. Develop Requests for Information and clarifications to ensure comprehensive subcontractor coverage while conducting bid day analysis to assess and compare bids effectively. Create and maintain a list of potential subcontractors to guarantee the right fit for each project.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience in the mechanical contracting industry
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Construction Management)
- Experience with estimating software
- Be able to perform takeoffs
- Previous experience in duct work and/or HVAC piping
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Able to read and understand margins and sales terminology including RFIs, addendums, and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in HVAC Estimating is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
