Job Summary
Prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for flooring projects based on plans, specifications, and project documentation. Review construction drawings, bid documents, and revisions to ensure estimates reflect current scope, then coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing aligned with current material costs. Develop and maintain estimating templates using software and Microsoft Excel to generate proposals and maintain accurate records. Monitor estimate requests for timely delivery, manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines, and communicate with internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized documentation for all estimates, including revisions and change orders, while adhering to company safety and compliance standards. Occasional visits to job sites may require exposure to outdoor conditions and use of PPE.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic estimating tools.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in flooring, construction, or building materials estimation.
- Familiarity with estimating software or project management systems.
- Experience working with vendor pricing or procurement processes.
- Experience in flooring estimation is helpful but not required.
- Willingness to learn.
