Job Summary
Estimator role leading pre-bid project pursuit in the Pacific Northwest, developing comprehensive and competitive cost estimates from project scope and specs; manage bid calendar; maintain CRM records; prepare customer quotes and accurate product information; build and maintain project-file databases; cultivate relationships with customers, public agencies, and vendors to drive business growth; collaborate with leadership to identify target markets and inform pursuit strategy; occasional travel up to 10%; remote/in-office flexibility based on project needs; supported by a national network within Helix Traffic Solutions; strong knowledge of traffic-control equipment, signage, and work-zone safety solutions
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of WSDOT, ODOT, and MUTCD standards and specifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficient in interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
- Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced bid environment
- Goal-driven with a track record of meeting deadlines and delivering results
- Strong computer skills, experience with Bluebeam, MS Office, NetSuite preferred
- Prior experience in estimating is a plus; however, we are prepared to train a motivated candidate with the right background and aptitude
