Job Summary
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and contract plans to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates. Incorporate historical data from purchase orders and productivity reports into unit and person-hour figures. Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs and material quantities from engineering drawings. Attend pre-bid meetings, monitor client addenda, and advise the team on changes during the estimate period. Provide technical input on project risks and recommend vendors to achieve pursuit and cost goals. Partner with the estimating team to conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control preferred.
- Beginner knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
- Developing technical writing skills.
