Job Summary
Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to fully understand project requirements before participating in bids and proposals. Utilize estimating software to enhance accuracy and efficiency while conducting risk analysis to identify financial risks and opportunities. This role supports the accurate and competitive pricing of upcoming Hartford DOT and regional CT infrastructure projects, including vertical construction for transit facilities and municipal buildings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years experience in estimating
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience within the heavy civil and/or vertical construction sectors
- Experience with CT DOT, Metro-North and/or Amtrak projects
