Job Summary
Estimator position responsible for preparing complete cost estimates for fire alarm, life safety, and related low-voltage systems. Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements; develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates; perform quantity takeoffs; prepare cost breakdowns and summaries; solicit and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotations; coordinate turnover documentation to project management upon award; support pricing, budgeting, and proposal development; represent the company professionally to customers, vendors, and internal teams; maintain estimates and ensure compliance with safety and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Previous estimating experience in fire alarm, low-voltage, electrical, fire protection, construction, or related industries preferred
- Knowledge of construction estimating principles and project bidding processes
- Experience reviewing and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating-related software applications
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
