Job Summary
Develop accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects, including materials, labor, and overhead. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand project scope and technical requirements. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services. Present detailed estimates and supporting documentation to management and stakeholders. Identify potential risks and opportunities within estimates and propose mitigation strategies. Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for future reference and analysis. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs
- Proficiency in using estimating software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
