Job Summary
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and contract plans to determine scope of work and required estimate contents. Incorporate historical data from purchase orders and productivity reports into unit and person-hour figures. Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs and material quantities from engineering drawings. Provide technical input on project risks to the lead estimator and advise the team on client addendum changes. Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors to achieve pursuit and cost goals. Partner with the team to conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
- Strong technical writing skills
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control
- experience with concrete pavement estimating
- field experience in concrete paving
- Growing knowledge of alternative construction delivery methods
