Estimator - Commercial Electrical Construction

Job Summary
Maintain bid checklists, reconcile bid loads with Project Coordinators, and upload documents to Sharefile for vendors. Review contract documents for accuracy, perform material take-offs, and establish construction schedules to develop manpower. Obtain vendor quotes, complete Excel front sheets, and develop detailed proposal letters. Submit RFIs by deadline, participate in estimate reviews, and generate award documents for submission. Identify project milestones and change orders to relay to Project Managers and Foremen. Review purchase orders and subcontracts, approve submittals for shop drawings, and facilitate scope reviews with construction personnel. Attend pre-construction, project, and Focus/WIP meetings as required. Estimate change order costs and attend post-construction meetings to provide lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other related field
- Five years or more related experience in Electric construction industry performing cost estimates
- Estimating knowledge of electrical industry
- Experience in understanding project blueprints, design drawings, specification, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, equipment, labor, and material estimates for projects and services
- Knowledge of general construction practices, National Electric Code, and NFPA 70E
- Local to Central Pennsylvania
- Flexibility to work from home when appropriate
- A can-do attitude
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams
Desired Qualifications
- An acceptable combination of education and work experience, validating estimating skill level
- Proficient in Accubid Estimating Software
- Regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings
