Job Summary
Estimator to develop budgets and bids across conceptual through construction document phases for commercial construction projects, including mixed-use, multi-family, hospitality, and office sectors. Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, preparing bid recaps for subcontractor and supplier scopes, evaluating bids to ensure complete scope coverage, creating detailed clarifications to minimize risks, providing value engineering budget options, collaborating with operations for general conditions and project handoff, visiting jobsites to gain construction knowledge and build rapport with field staff, compiling historical data and unit cost information, fostering relationships with subcontractors for improved bid coverage, and supporting project staff throughout construction.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of estimating experience with a medium to large general contractor on commercial/building projects ($5M-$50M+)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Preferred experience with BIM, BlueBeam Revu, Sage/Timberline, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of mixed-use building components is preferred
- General knowledge of construction documents
- Familiarity with the local non-union subcontractor base and Seattle-area pricing is preferred
