Job Summary
Analyze and compile estimate data for labor, materials, equipment, and site conditions to ensure high-quality, timely bids. Review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions while recording findings and soliciting input from field operations. Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase bid competitiveness, utilizing existing cost history and advanced analytical processes to verify accuracy. Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior project management, communicating bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings. Develop and maintain business relationships to increase regional bid opportunities and mentor estimating staff. Lead Design-build preconstruction services and means and methods discussions to drive creative thinking. Requires 3-5 years of commercial construction estimating experience, a four-year degree in construction management or civil engineering, and excellent computer skills. Based in Escondido, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years Commercial and/or Public Works experience estimating construction projects of increasing complexity
- Graduate of a four-year degree program in construction management, civil engineering, or other industry-related degree programs
- Knowledgeable about current construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
- Must have good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving history
