Job Summary
Review commercial construction drawings, specifications, elevations, and bid documents to perform detailed digital quantity takeoffs for specialty finish scopes. Develop complete estimates, budgets, and proposals while analyzing wall conditions, transitions, and sequencing factors that affect production. Identify scope gaps, drawing conflicts, and estimating risks, then prepare RFIs, exclusions, and proposal clarifications. Coordinate with architects, designers, General Contractors, and vendors to solicit and evaluate material pricing, manage multiple active bids against submission deadlines, and assist with change order pricing. Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information while learning specialized architectural finish systems and company-specific methods. Work 100% onsite in Dallas during a planned knowledge-transfer period with two veteran estimators to improve workflows and incorporate new technology.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of commercial construction plans and specifications
- Experience performing detailed digital quantity takeoffs
- Ability to develop complete commercial construction estimates
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to identify scope gaps and inconsistencies in construction documents
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed work style with a high degree of reliability
- Strong work ethic and consistent follow-through
- Comfortable learning specialized construction systems and estimating methods
- Willingness to learn new software and technology
- Interest in progressing into estimating leadership
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Dallas
