Job Summary
Estimator responsible for leading cost estimation activities for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects in Canada. Key duties include preparing and coordinating full-cost estimates from concept to tender for collaborative delivery projects, leading estimating workshops to align costs with project goals, performing detailed material/labour/equipment/subcontractor take-offs, maintaining unit costs, negotiating with subcontractors/suppliers, conducting value-engineering reviews, providing constructability input during pre-construction, tracking estimated vs. actual costs, and building strong relationships with subtrades, consultants, suppliers, and clients. Requires deep knowledge of local construction/sub-contract marketplace, advanced Excel and cost-estimating software, ability to read drawings/specs and defend cost recommendations, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Preference for IPD or collaborative delivery experience. Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; remote work is in-person at the office.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or related)
- CEC designation (CIQS)
- PQ S designation (PQS)
- Strong Excel and cost-estimating software proficiency
- Experience: 5 years in estimating, 4 years with construction management
- ICI experience
- Residential, recreational, healthcare experience
- Proficient in cost modelling and reading drawings/specs
- Ability to present cost data and influence decisions
- Collaborative and communicative skills
