Job Summary
Estimator role responsible for liaising with estimating, trades, design, accounting, marketing and sales to ensure accurate information for production. Key duties include preparing project estimates and budgets, cost-to-complete analysis, material take-offs from working drawings, reviewing and processing change orders, and tender documents for bids. Requires cost analysis, market awareness for pricing, maintaining price books, and strong communication with vendors and trades. The position emphasizes collaboration with trades, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize quality and cost effectiveness on residential construction projects. A Building Technology diploma (AT/CET) or a related university degree is preferred, with 1–5 years of residential construction experience and proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma in Building Technology (AT, CET) is preferred or a University degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Blueprint Reading
- Estimating
- Construction Fundamentals and Communication and Negotiation Technology diploma would be an asset.
- 1 - 5 years of residential construction experience
- Proficiency in Estimating Software
