Job Summary
Construction Project Estimator serves a vital function in accurately estimating total project costs and managing the bid process (CM and GC). You will prepare detailed bid packages for all design stages (Conceptual through Construction Documents), perform quantity take-offs, estimate costs for materials, labor, and equipment, solicit subcontractor bids, and prepare subcontractor bid forms and scopes of work. You will provide itemized hard and soft cost breakdowns for client approval, review design documents to ensure accurate pricing, generate value engineering ideas, conduct life cycle costing, and ensure bids comply with contract requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating with architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to obtain cost information, researching cost sources, maintaining vendor relationships, and attending client or team meetings to resolve pricing issues and ensure complete bid packages.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree and/or at least three years of relevant experience in Estimating, Purchasing, or Quantity Surveying
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and meet them
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
- Reliably commute or relocate before starting (Lakewood, NJ)
