Job Summary
Estimator for heavy civil earthworks projects in Austin, TX, responsible for preparing detailed project take-offs, cost estimates, and bids; collaborate with engineers, project managers, and business development to gather information; develop estimation SOPs/templates to bid lean, fast, and low-risk while winning projects; analyze market conditions, materials, labor, and equipment prices; assist in negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers; participate in site walks and customer interactions; monitor costs during construction to align with estimates and identify variances early. Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Trimble, B2W, Agtek) and strong analytic, mathematical, and communication skills required; 3+ years in construction estimation and experience in earthworks/heavy civil projects preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably in earthworks or heavy civil projects
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Trimble, B2W, Agtek, or similar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and specifications
