Job Summary
The Estimator is crucial for providing accurate cost estimates for prospective projects to assess profitability and maintain work backlog. Responsibilities include reading contract documents, material takeoffs, acquiring factory quotes, data entry into Comsense software, generating customer quotes, conducting follow-ups on estimates, and preparing detailed hand-off files for project managers. Required skills include experience in estimating for commercial doors, frames, and hardware or commercial construction projects, proficiency in Microsoft software, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. A high school diploma and 2 years of related experience are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years' experience in commercial door, frame, and hardware estimating
- 3 years' commercial construction project estimating
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to read contract documents, including architectural drawings and specifications
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in English
