Estimator

Coordinate and perform major estimating functions for disciplines including earthwork, utilities, drainage, and structural concrete. Review proposal specifications and drawings to prepare bid item lists and quantities, while attending pre-bid meetings and meeting with owners to determine scope. Incorporate historical data from purchase orders, productivity reports, and the job cost system into unit cost and man-hour figures. Perform or coordinate quantity takeoffs, assemble direct cost estimates, and analyze alternate construction methods for cost effectiveness. Interface with owners, architects, and subcontractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. This role requires occasional day travel to deliver bids, visit job sites, and attend conferences. Candidates must work on-site at the regional office and incorporate the Allan Myers Safety Program into estimates, identifying high-risk activities and coordinating with the Safety Department.
