Job Summary
Estimating Supervisor leads and optimizes the lumber estimating function to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive project proposals. Oversees a team of estimators through the full lifecycle of estimating, coordinating with sales, purchasing, and operations. Focus on process-driven leadership, operational efficiency, quality standards, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include managing bid schedules, assigning projects based on workload and expertise, ensuring accuracy of material take-offs and estimates, maintaining estimating systems and pricing databases, coaching and developing team members, driving cross-functional collaboration, identifying process improvements, and communicating project status and risks to stakeholders. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 5+ years estimating experience in construction/manufacturing, proficiency with Bluebeam/Timberline and MS Office, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience within construction, manufacturing, or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of blueprint interpretation, material take-offs, and estimating methodologies
- Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, Timberline, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions
