Job Summary
Develop conceptual and traditional cost estimates for large-scale data center buildouts from concept through completion, creating standards for new business cases when design information is limited. Implement standardized estimating processes and tools across projects to ensure consistency, validating consultant-led estimates against project goals and industry standards. Support business planning for funding requirements by preparing detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and owner costs. Monitor market trends and economic factors to adjust estimates, while providing input on feasibility studies, risk assessments, and value engineering efforts. Participate in post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement and stay abreast of emerging technologies to enhance estimating capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Finance, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field or equivalent education and/or relevant experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the data center or large-scale mission critical sectors
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
- Experience with Construction Estimation Software
- Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 20 lbs
- Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform
- Perform work during US business hours and time zones
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection
- Proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Estimating software and Outlook
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Manages stress and/or fast pace effectively
- Excellent analytical, creative thinking, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders
- Must possess a clear understanding of the full construction life cycle
- Knowledge of key players in Data Centre Development Market
- Experience on working on Multi Billion Dollar projects
- Proven capability to perform all forms and types of estimates from parametric to bottoms up and high level what-if scenarios
- Possess and demonstrate a full range of understanding and appreciation for the estimating process and how it ties to the overall organizational goals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills beyond estimating practice
- Capability to multi-task in a fast-pace environment
- Possess multidiscipline experience and understand and be able to estimate all facets of a data center construction project
- Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to review and discuss estimates or estimating activities
- Ability to be highly confidential
