Job Summary
Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and succession plans while incorporating estate tax strategies such as irrevocable trusts, SLATs, and GRATs. Provide legal analysis and counsel to clients on estate planning and administration issues, performing thorough research to identify and mitigate legal risks. Support disputes involving fiduciary responsibility, estates, and trusts, and prepare federal estate and gift tax returns. This salaried full-time position requires a Pennsylvania bar license and four years of experience in estates and trusts, with a regular Monday through Friday schedule and occasional extended hours. The firm offers mentorship, a marketing budget, and professional development opportunities for associates.
Required Qualifications
- License to practice law in Pennsylvania
- 4+ years' experience in estates and trusts law
- Significant experience drafting estate planning documents
- Experience with direct client contact
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing thoughtful and persuasive messaging
- Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset
- Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
- A strong drive to provide proactive, client-focused legal services
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in business and entity formation and governance
- Experience with asset transfers, trust funding, and related documentation as part of effectuating an estate plan
- Experience with iManage document management system
- Experience filing court documents, electronically preferred
- Active Notary license
